Analysis of Time-Varying Mesh Stiffness and Dynamic Response of Gear Transmission System with Pitting and Cracking Coupling Faults

The gear transmission system is an important part of the mechanical system, so it essential to judge its running state accurately. To solve difficult problem identifying components coupling faults, this paper derives calculation method time-varying mesh stiffness for faults pitting and cracking based on energy considering between teeth, establishes dynamics model two-stage with studies influence dynamic characteristics. accuracy proposed verified by experiments. results show that both can lead a reduction in stiffness. will fluctuate irregularly due tooth surface, while cracked teeth relatively smooth. fault dominated more serious faults.
